Never hang your flag at half mast when you praise God! No, run up every colour, let every banner wave in the breeze, and let all the powers and passions of your spirit exult and rejoice in God your Saviour. C.H. Spurgeon

Prayer for Persecuted Christians. Over 100 million Christians around the world are routinely persecuted for their faith. Isolated and rejected because of their faith, they suffer injustice, often to the point of death. Persecuted Christians want to do more than survive the spiritual battle; they want to advance the kingdom. But they need the support of the body of Christ to remain in the fight… One of the first things that persecuted Christians ask for is prayer. To help guide and inspire your prayers throughout the Summer Offensive, they are offering the World Watch Prayer Guide free of charge. http://members.opendoorsusa.org/globalsummeroffensive/index.html

Burma day of Prayer 2010. Prayers break through for Burma! CSW (Christian Solidarity Worldwide), Partners and 3P Ministries would like to thank everyone who prayed for Burma on the Global Day of Prayer. The London event was a great success with over 150 guests gathering to pray. Speakers, guests and staff were profoundly touched by all they heard. And one thing was clear; God was there in our midst and our prayers were being heard. “Prayer really is the most powerful weapon we have to stand against the wickedness that we see perpetrated in Burma today. So let us not forget to remain steadfast on behalf of the millions of IDP's and refugees throughout this coming year…” Sarah Armitage, Partners Relief and Development. http://www.csw.org.uk/burma-day-of-prayer-2010.htm

Micah 2010: October 10, 2010 (10.10.10) Join 100 million Christians in prayer and promise for the poor. It is a special campaign to focus on our promise to the poor, ten years after nations around the world committed to halve global poverty by 2015. Imagine 100 million Christians praying for justice in the nations. We want to affirm the importance of listening to God, seeking his wisdom and relying on his strength and guidance. The global prayer for Micah 2010 echoes the themes of Nehemiah who fasted and prayed day and night before he embarked on the mighty task of restoring Jerusalem. The prayer will be used in churches around the globe on 10.10.10. A children's prayer is also available. http://www.micahchallenge.org/get-involved/micah-2010/global-prayer
OMF (Overseas Missionary Fellowship) "The Great Commission is not an option to be considered; it is a command to be obeyed." - J. Hudson Taylor, founder of the China Inland Mission (now OMF International). They aim to see an indigenous, biblical church movement in each people group of East Asia, evangelizing their own people and reaching out in mission to other peoples.
OMF International was founded as the China Inland Mission on June 25, 1865. It was then that James Hudson Taylor knelt upon the beach at Brighton, England and “prayed for twenty-four willing, skilful labourers” to reach the inland provinces of China. Today OMF International is a diverse evangelical mission agency of more than 1,600 workers from 30 different countries. They continue to press on to know the Lord and make him known among the peoples of East Asia. They have identified six ways people can be involved with the God’s work among the nations: going, praying, sending, welcoming, mobilizing and learning. http://www.omf.org/omf/us/about_omf_international
